Thread: diagnose a violent system restart.

my system has starting experience violent system restarts. how go trying diagnose fault is?

explanation of violent restart can give i'm experiencing power outage caveat system restarts bios onwards without fault.

has made system unstable , unreliable extent can't worthwhile productive work on risk of losing it.

far have ruled out external hdd , mountall.

there nothing can prevent happening once system decides wants restart.

first port of call in determining @ root of problem?

type there hadn't considered. might bad memory module. how ascertain this?

the first thing through log files in /var/log. second thing if restarts come out of wild is
- verify temperature doesn't high
- check ram running memtest livecd
