Thread: Editing grub menu
i upgraded ubuntu 11.10 12.04, , had installed ubuntu on lv encryption. now, doesn't boot.
in grub menu, have options "ubuntu, linux 3.2.0.24-generic-pae" , corresponding recovery mode, none of them show me screen i'm supposed type in passphrase encrypted volume.
have option "previous linux version", under that, have "ubuntu, linux 3.2.0.24-generic" works correctly.
i'm upset grub menu overwritten (i told keep existing menu during upgrade, didn't listen).
anyways, solution me seems have modify grub menu , move 1 of submenus "previous linux version" options grub's main menua , make default. don't know how , couldn't find tutorial describes submenus in clear way. advice highly appreciated.
also, how can rid of these generic-pae linux images forever? want generic ones, not generic-pae ones.
