Thread: Trying to get 12.04 working on iMac G5 - White Screen - trying all sorts of things
hi all!
well, i'm trying ubuntu 12.04 , running on imac g5, , i'm not having success. if default install of 12.04 on g5, following screen:
i've read thread here, , think issues related. i've tried using xorg.conf file there, , doesn't seem me. i've switched resolution values 1440 x 900. when reboot xorg.conf file, don't have improvement. it's same.
alternatively, if reboot yaboot parameter of "nouveau.modeset=0", can sort of see desktop graphics jumbled. looks out of hippie music video. sort of distorted graphics issue.
if reboot "nosplash video=ofonly" still same white screen above.
i'm guessing way fix fixed xorg file. can edit xorg file barely if log in "nouveau.modeset=0" option. think strategy log in that... , modify xorg.conf file.
also, clear, didn't start w/ default xorg.conf file. created one, , stuck /etc/x11
think that's right spot. anyhow, i'm grateful can provide me , running. thanks! if can going, i'm thinking putting ssd in , maxing out ram... giggles![]()
