Thread: Partitioning Issues During Install

i had corrupted ubuntu installation on 1 partion of hard drive. user account in separate partiton , backup partition , separate drive microsoft windows.

installed 12.04 , since didn't want keep corrupted ubuntu 10.4 selected delete , replace 12.04.

did not want reformat , repartion whole drive loosing data , backup partitions.

thing did not want crap on windows boot partition because use bios boot priority select 1 want. quite important because want system restart on chose os when there power failure.

think high time cannonical go have serious think upgrade procedures , boot loaders because amateurish crap has no business remaining in industry.

let me understand correctly - had 1 partition / , ubuntu system files , had mounted /home on separate partition?

if correct, believe can format / partition of 10.04 , install 12.04 in it. won't loosing data in windows , /home partition. besides wrote had backed both of them.
