Thread: The manual upgrade from 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS

the upgrade manager not showing 12.04 lts upgrade. manual method start upgrade?

presently running 10.04 lts , want due lts lts upgrade.

note: release upgrade set "long term support releases only"

upgrading_from_ubuntu_10.04_lts_to_ubuntu_12.04_lt s says: "it recommended users of ubuntu 10.04 lts wait until first point release, due in july, before upgrading." follow instructions there if want upgrade earlier since following instructions not work until then.
so, why not being offered upgrade through update manager @ moment. second link give different method

hello! title reads trying on world of warcraft horse heck of it, , having spent last 8 hours trying virtualbox windows vista figure out drivers needed cannot installed able play game , configuring/installing wine , wow itself, beginning run out of patience , lust figure out... turn more direct help! has tried this? had success? comments or tips? cheers! yes world of warcraft private server doable. have been playing world of warcraft private servers years using wine. stay away player vs player servers there people cheat. , bother other players. wont go experiences that. right i’m using wine 1.5.3 ever comes ubuntu should work fine. if video card bit old recommend using -opengl extension better graphics , performance. pre-cataclysm play pve deathpod, works little no lag. cataclysm have been playing pve astralwow, buggy playable. i have been searching time way edit metadata of video file created along de-novo file. specifically, vlc example, displays metadata text when begins playing file. trying access to. seems me, if there way create metadata in first place, there *must* way edit it. how? using either 11.04 or 12.04 kubuntu. nautilus it's nice icon displays of photos , vids. typically use gwenview , gimp photos , vlc , avidemux video. these tools work things, occasionally, there video has wrong or verbose metadata , far have found no way edit stuff. vlc has option purports work in cases, not reliable, looking swiss-army-knife solution can handle multiple formats (avi/wmv/mpg/mp4/etc/etc) in manner exfalso audio files. "ffmpg" command-line tool not work way, may part of app does. there video geek out there in ubu-land has known solution? folks use create these files in first place? thanks, ct use c...
