authorization failure

digital editions downloaded fine. systems refused authorize computer let me transfer epub book public library nook. have tried delete , reload software , did not help. says need new id won't let me create 1 email address since have one. changing password did not hep. frustrating. help

sometimes ade gets registration/activation confused , in semi-authorized state.

uninstalling , reinstalling not help.

unfortunately, gives misleading error messages wrong.

a common incorrect message informs id in use on computer , cannot reused.


this can resolved removing authorization using ctrl-shift-d library screen on ade (cmd-shift-d if on mac).

restart ade, , reauthorize (old) adobe id.


in extreme cases on mac, following step has helped people.  navigate /users//library/application support/adobe/digital editions , drag activation.dat file trash. if using 10.7, see access hidden user library files | mac os 10.7 lion. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1265248?tstart=0
