'Applicationmanager is not installed'

windows 7 adobe photoshop 12 (cs5.1 extended) , lightroom 5. took (big) step upgrade photoshop cc. followed online steps @ adobe site got above message. tried run applicationmanger on local pc same result. disabled firewall no sigar. pc has network server installed , not attached other network. should uninstall applicationmaneger risk of not being able work in photoshop? ideas?

you can still work on photoshop if application manager not installed, needed while activation or downloading product. also, if have upgraded photoshop cc download creative cloud desktop app via https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud instead of adobe application manager.

 

once app downloaded can start downloading/installing photoshop cc there.
