Thread: Slow transfer between ubuntu 12.04 and network hdd

hey guys

when transfer file ubuntu machine network hard drive extremely slow, 100 kb/s.

machine has ubuntu 12.04, , has wired connection router. extern hard drive connected wd tv live wired connected router.

funny thing that, if switch windows, speed fine. , when used ubuntu 10.04 there no problems speed.

have install samba, , if mount network hard drive or use network explore in nautilus same slow speed.

can me?

yep, appear have broken something.
have 2 other pcs @ home 10.?? , 11.04 installed , mount vfat nas drive. add line /etc/fstab using smbfs. reasonable response fro server older systems.

installed 12.04 on 4 year old dell vostro.
12.04 slow talking nas samba server. file manager slow in showing me files in directory. server hosts thunderbird email folder machine can them , takes 30 seconds open , slow retrieving files. tried changing fstab driver cifs same thing.

hi, relatively new linux (have used many live disks) , have had install of ubuntu 12.04 few days now. part have found easy use , have been comfortable it. have first question can't resolve myself: adding googles repository list. when first ran command supplied google found did not have wget installed. used apt-get install it. worked fine (as far can tell) re-ran googles code : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add -deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free , message 'gpg: conflicting commands' tell me going wrong , how fix please new script : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add linux_signing_key.pub need edit /etc/apt/sources.list , add line @ end deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free end hope find usefull edit: need root or use sudo make changes /etc/apt/sour...
