Thread: Upgraded to 12.04 and can no longer browse samba shares without a password

i had working fine in 11.10. have several public shares on ubuntu system, , share home directories. simple, straightforward use case, i've been doing decade. every time update os or samba makes change seems broken.

issue time when i'm in windows , attempt browse server, prompted username/password. not desired behavior. shouldn't prompted until try open home directory. once provide username/password entered in smbpasswd can browse public shares, when try browse home directory prompts password again , rejected, dialog multiple connections 1 computer not allowed.

nobody account disabled in ubuntu 12.04 default reason? if so, how enable this? why there such change 1 version of ubuntu another?

well got public shares, no home shares. wonderful.
