Storing a user-supplied string value?
big caveat - i'm total newbie adobe dps , app development. have spent quite bit of time trying arms around basic issues. scenario , question may not possible, if appreciate tips on how accomplish this.
question in brief: possible store user-supplied string variable in app, or folio, or in associated app or file... value of variable can retrieved when user clicks button or link?
background behind question
we're working on multi-folio app focused on advertising real-estate rentals. our marketing plan calls signing property agents many rental companies "sales affiliates" , send out newsletters email lists, encouraging clients download our free app.
within app, each property listing have book button. when user clicks on book button particular property, html form overlay appear allowing user enter basic information such name, email addr, phone number , rental timeframe , duration. hidden field contain unique identifier particular property. once form submitted, agent follow emails and/or phone calls confirm availability , complete each booking.
but, brings wrinkle in our plans, because we're wanting create 1 version of app , of each folio/issue.
we'd somehow able create dynamic links forms include affiliate code. or assign hidden form field value of affiliate code. if either of things, program action forms sent our own website processing php allow parse out affiliate code... , readdress/redirect form data appropriate rental agency. way, agency assured of being able collect commission after complete booking.
we're wondering if it's possible during app install user select agency emailed them drop-down list, , associated affiliate code somehow stored in app? or in external file or basic xcode app? or ask new users upon completion of installation of app set account, include selecting proper agent informed them free app. (which might allow javascript query upon loading booking inquiry form retrieve affiliate code....)
sorry blah, blah, blah... but maybe explanation helps.
