Thread: FTP User can see all system files

greetings:

i've set basic vsftp server on ubuntu computer @ work, "ftp" username (with password)that plan on giving colleagues can share files. far, good.
problem that, simply, user "ftp" can see system files , directories. "ftp" can't delete or change them in way, except in ftp directory, still makes me quite uncomfortable username able browse system directories.
managed shut "ftp" out of home directories
chmod 770
how can secure system hard drive browsing "ftp" without shutting own local user out?

seems should basic stuff, i've found little info on it.
thank you!
