Thread: suggestions to change permissions on an external drive from MAC hfsplus

trying copy files mac drive. can see folders permissions errors when trying copyfiles.
mount returns:/dev/sdc2 on /media/macintosh hd type hfsplus (ro,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=udisks)

not have mac computer access dive from. have ubuntu pcto work . drive mounted ro. how either take ownership, change permissions, etc able copy files. side note- of folders on macintosh hd able copy 1 need access, can see subfolders in folder permission denied when trying copy. suggestions welcome. thanks. if else fails run testdisk on drive recover files. have tried using chmod change permissions, gksudo nautilus. have go out bit i'll check in little while , try suggestions

you can't write hfsplus partitions linux, should able read them , copy onto linux partition. once on linux partition can change partitions.


mount returns on hfsplus partition:

/dev/sdb3 on /root/tmp type hfsplus (ro)


mounted system under /root/tmp , posted permissions for

project, possibly not same install, hfsplus filesystem same.

hi, relatively new linux (have used many live disks) , have had install of ubuntu 12.04 few days now. part have found easy use , have been comfortable it. have first question can't resolve myself: adding googles repository list. when first ran command supplied google found did not have wget installed. used apt-get install it. worked fine (as far can tell) re-ran googles code : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add -deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free , message 'gpg: conflicting commands' tell me going wrong , how fix please new script : wget -q https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub -o- | sudo apt-key add linux_signing_key.pub need edit /etc/apt/sources.list , add line @ end deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free end hope find usefull edit: need root or use sudo make changes /etc/apt/sour...
