Thread: Trouble installing Canon LBP 3100 Printer

hi , can please help.
trying canon lbp 3100 printer working ubuntu12.04.

downloaded drivers http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/4/090000...0_uk_en.tar.gz , installed them.

when connecting printer via usb automatically adds printer "canon lbp3100/lbp3108/lbp3150 capt (uk)" selected device uri "usb://canon/lbp3100/lbp3108/lbp3150?serial=0000b1a2r5mj", when printing test page sits there status message "processing - sending data printer."

tried add printer according few other sites.
configuring via.through cups device uri "ccp:/var/ccpd/fifo0", when printing test page here status "processing"

when using
code:
captstatusui -p lbp3100 command
, tels me printer not on (though is), or cable not connected(though is), when switching printer on , off, states "waiting" closes.

dont know else do?
suggestions?

hello,

first of all, running 32 or 64bits version of 12.04 ?

automatic detection/add printers not relevant canon printer using capt drivers. must install manually, steps in procedure not same depending 32 or 64bits.
