Acrobat XI Pro crashing on OCR with images

have come across pesky file crashes acorbat xi pro when attempting ocr.  combination of settings, doesn't seem matter.  other pdf files ocr fine.  acrobat updated of posting question.  suggestions?

my solution in such situation 1) try save document , see if fixes it; 2) try printing pdf pdf printer , try ocr again; side effect may lower quality document or larger file (depending on settings use); adjust needed; 3) try exporting document jpg , recombine; ocr results. dumping pdf jpg may produce better quality pdf, increase file size as 10x unless optimizations applied.

 

i've had success in using optimization features of acrobat , reduce file size process keep file size down (using acrobat xi pro).

ps: if need bookmarks, after successful ocr, open original file has bookmarks , replace pages ocred pages.
