i have lan mix of linux , windows (xp+) boxes attached. lan not have internet access. want able write programs can launch other programs on other computers on lan without having use login passwords. e.g. program code like: code: system("someutility remotemachineid remoteprogram.exe listofprogramparams &"); ideally lan setup / configuring of computers should easy. have looked @ ssh / putty, appears need set encryption keys , run ssh agent, unless there way of configuring each machine accept ssh commands without authentication , without using keys. rexec seems candidate, can set not require authentication? there old telnet. can made work? logins there reason. if make each machine can have programs launched without authentication, asking trouble. in case ssh gets vote. i using ubuntu 12.04 lts. need use in kiosk setup dual monitors. when connect both monitors works fine. when remove 1 monitor, automatically configures output 1 monitor. how change setting? in ma case 1 monitor gui screen , other showing pictures,videos , other operations. when 1 disconnected, other should stay when before. pls me.... your saying when second monitor disconnected, moves windows first monitor? that's how it's supposed work. don't know of apps can that. i have been using ver 11.04, 64 bit. installed on lexar 16 gb stick drive , worked fine. accepted upgrades , failed boot after that. downloaded 12.04 64 bit, burned cd , installed on lexar. selected complete format erase data during install. give me grub screen , not boot. repeated procedure re-install 3 times same results. problem? download bootinfoscript(click on blue link), run root. results in results.txt file. can determine needs fixing. so, today started editing project. selecting clips several different interviews , putting them in timeline. watched clips, fine.   then dragged begging of timeline. now, clips out of synch. clips out of synch of same person, other clips fine. audio/video linked, that's not problem. looking @ timeline, seems normal.   after watching more closely, video seems correct. happened audio. audio jumps around alot. meaning person "so decorated trailer" hear click..then jumps portion of audio. weird thing of audio original video , not part of timeline (i.e hear part of interviewer's question). i've attached screenshot can see timeline looks like. again, want stress sounded fine when first listened these clips. also, @ first thought computer, saved file , rebooted. wish have tried command z first. late now. other ideas?       More discussions in Premiere Pro CC adobe

hi finished installing ubuntu 12.04 , windows 7 on 2 separate sata drives. kept each installation isolated (ubuntu installed first on sata1 , hard drive unplugged when windows installed on second drive, sata2) in order reduce complications. question how configure grub setup? @ moment machine boots straight linux without grub menu. open terminal , run: code: sudo update-grub ubuntu should recognize windows , add grub menu. if grub menu doesn't show @ boot, try hold down shift key dooring boot. hi, installed ubuntu on same hard drive windows 7 installation, on different partitions. however, when selecting "install boot menu entry", foolishly picked same partition ubuntu install, instead of entire hard drive. result, pc boots straight windows. there way fix this, or have format ubuntu partition windows , whole process again? thanks ps: because had 3 partitions (from recovery programs pre-installed on laptop), not make 5th partition swap. come , haunt me @ point, or ok?
