hi, decided wanted migrate lucid lynx ubuntu installation external 80gb hdd onto internal 120gb hdd. didn't use ghost or that, created backup.tgz of file system (excluding proc, lost+found, backup.tgz, media, , sys) , restored backup on fresh install of lucid lynx on internal 120gb; however, after rebooted following error when try boot ubuntu grub: can still boot windows 7 (which installed on different hdd) via grub, can't ubuntu. i'll try running boot info script , posting results here. maybe help. just use livecd run update-grub partition layout changed when moved grub isn't updated yet incorperate changes. so, grub looks partition *used* there, isn't anymore (well, not under id grub expects be). if doesn't work, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/gr...rom_the_livecd information reinstalling grub. fix may cause lose mods boot options. ...

hi everyone. made fresh install of ubuntu 12.04, , fan working time. also, temp little bit higher compared ubuntu 11.10. installed lm-sensors, , indicates 55-60ºc. in ubuntu 11.10 48-53ºc, jumping 60-65ºc when using heavy apps. i'm not sure if problem it's high temp, or if fan controller not working quite well. weird have temp variation, since 12.04 looks kinda similar 11.10 in advance ps: lm-sensors says: (high = +80ºc, crit = +85ºc), same laptop cooler ubuntu 11.10, that's strange thing. ps2: laptop: lenovo g570, intel i3-2310m @ 2.10 ghz guess nepomuk running , indexing files. let finish run. should better (nepomuk under kubuntu, dunno if use else ubuntu). cs6. i've created "previous" & "next" buttons move between pages on click...and placed these on master page. they have rollover states changes appearance sightly & works intended....until after click 1 of buttons, , move pages. button "stuck" in rollover state, after move mouse away. not until mouse on button , off again....that returns normal state. happens each time click , move pages. repeat...the rollover state behaves expected if dont click buttons move pages - mousing on works perfectly. ideas going on here? thanks what pdf viewer using test buttons? operating system? i math teacher in synchronous online environment, coming adobe connect wimba.  using win 7 pc bamboo dock software , wacom bamboo ctl-470 tablet/stylus combo.  last year's experience in wimba less ideal, functional.  school has transitioned adobe connect.  when attempt write on whiteboard or annotate powerpoint slide, first "x"percent of each stroke not visible, if stroke being monitored, no "ink" being deposited on screen, last "y" percent of stroke "written."  hope screenshot illustrate...     as hope can see, beginning of each stroke missing. i have client looking @ automating sales information bc sage accounting system via bc api. suspect beyond capabilities , looking can work me on this. sage (the company) has development license fee of 1500 pounds (per year?) full access sdk, have open source model (free use) uses rest interface import / export data, possible. reading between lines here, if need data in , data out free interface should work assuming have version of sage supports open source model. interfacing bc pain (i dislike soap interface) pretty straight forward. when making book in book module in lightroom 5: i have edited photos , saved book later work. when opened book cannot add captions (in metadata in library module) caption there in metadata caption area in library module not seen in book module. captions turned on in preferences in book module. can help? thanks raymond it's not enough set in book> book preferences menu. have ensure individual pages follow that  preference setting.   to see what's going on, select single page, select photo (you should see zoom indicator). next @ text panel. photo text ticked? should be. that's guess what's wrong. caption in drop down menu right? if not, change it.   other things wrong - caption's colour same colour page?   once you've established what's happening,  it's possible change lots of pages in 1 swipe. go book's grid view, choose edit > select text cells , can change fonts, colours, whether they're set caption or title etc.   john More discussions...
