hello all,   so odd. here's breakdown , steps i've taken far.   i create new layer , fill black. make new layer , make marquee selection. within marquee selection, fill new layer color transparent gradient fill. take new gradient layer , warp using "flag" preset. adjust bend 20% , commit warp/transformation. curve want, right in middle of curve, running straight layer, solid line of pixels. it's if, 1 little line missed out on both gradient warp effect.   very odd indeed. can please explain might happening that?   much appreciated.     v/r jake mccarthy do have paths? known display though not selected. i had corrupted ubuntu installation on 1 partion of hard drive. user account in separate partiton , backup partition , separate drive microsoft windows. installed 12.04 , since didn't want keep corrupted ubuntu 10.4 selected delete , replace 12.04. did not want reformat , repartion whole drive loosing data , backup partitions. thing did not want crap on windows boot partition because use bios boot priority select 1 want. quite important because want system restart on chose os when there power failure. think high time cannonical go have serious think upgrade procedures , boot loaders because amateurish crap has no business remaining in industry. let me understand correctly - had 1 partition / , ubuntu system files , had mounted /home on separate partition? if correct, believe can format / partition of 10.04 , install 12.04 in it. won't loosing data in windows , /home partition. besides wrot...

i tried upgrade 11.xx (can't remember which) crashed (i unplugged mouse). wouldn't reboot (screen displaying solid colors: red, blue, green, white, black, , red, blue, ... on , over). burned cd kubuntu 12.04 on it. when booting it, have kubuntu cd gui choose "start kubuntu". after 10 seconds, screen starts doing display of solid color (see paragraph above). laptop dell m1730 , known have defective hardware 3d video board, has worked kubuntu before, , can see cd gui anyways, should working. ideas? hi , welcome forums graphics card have installed? thanks. with upgrade 12.04 can no longer recompile e1000 driver, have done past dozen or releases in order make gigabit connection.
