hi, have zotac zbox id41 machine, running ubuntu 11.04. bought wireless usb adapter (an edimax ew-7612uan), , have been trying make work ever since no success. after having given on ubuntu 12.04 due shutdown hangs , such decided stay 11.04. followed installation procedure of 8712u driver described in http://samiux.blogspot.com/2010/05/h...sb-dongle.html , blacklisted stock r8712u module, , had working while. other reasons removed network-manager , relying on /etc/network/interfaces define wlan1 interface (i don't have gdm running). in case, works fine until next boot. kernel panic in dmesg, wlan1 not present, , led on dongle off. stays way until remove dongle , reinsert it. @ point interface comes , (i still stack traces in log though). made sure put firmware http://www.tuxamito.com/rtl8192/rtl8192sfw.bin.gz in /lib/firmware/rtl8192su/, mentioned in other posts. stack traces get: code: [ 63.689827] [<c104f912>] ? warn...

using ps cs5.1, converting large space image srgb web use not give accurate render in actual browser. common problem, there couple of simple user errors lead this, , means less saturated image. this, however, seems unlikely user error, i've tested freshly created, srgb image, simple gradient, outputting embedded profile (non-embedded gives identical results in browser), , becomes overly saturated.   the interesting, , telling thing, viewing optimized web version monitor color selected in preview gives browser shows me. likewise, soft proofing using monitor rgb gives same image browser. strange issue.   i'm on winxp x64 browser firefox, , i've tried 3 color management settings no change, , same results chrome browser.     this grad in prophoto space, converted during save web. color match, slight shift, not unexpectedly. note, preview internet standard rgb.     same grad, time preview set monitor color. there quite a  saturation increase. browser shows ...

ok situation have set password ubuntu, prevent 14yo daughter getting on computer much. whenever start pc seems bypass need password--this means gets on computer morning , stays on way long. please. using ubuntu 12.04 1. did enable automatic login during installation? 2. guest account enabled (i'm assuming is)? these things can think of cause need no password able use computer. if want disable guest account open terminal , type "sudo gedit /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf" @ bottom of few lines of code in document opens type "allow-guest=false" (all without quotes). restart system. if there's bug causing automatically login (or if you've enabled automatic login upon installation) i'm not sure how fix (sorry).
