i have ageing dell 1545 run 12.04 on exclusively. however, have been experiencing drive labelling problems of late. partitioned rather strangely, have removed last vestiges of dell's partitioning scheme. removed small dell utilities partition recovery partition, @ begining of drive, , combined them empty space vacated win7 (that removed when first installed 10.04, 2 years ago), making sda1 1 whole partition @ beginning of drive. had 10.04 dual boot win 7 , when removed 7, left partitiong 12.04. sda5,6 , 7 root, swap , home, sda1 , 2 two dell partitions have removed , combined sda3 making large sda1. problem have 2 ntfs external drives, sdb1 2t wd elements drive , sdc1 generic 500 gb drive used labelled "new volume". when boot up, grub recovery prompt if sdc plugged in, without it, error message can't mounted , press "s" skip it. when plug in, error root can mount use "storage mgr" mount it, in storage mgr, see sda1 label...

with previous version of ubuntu there known issue mythv. sort of resampling problem between mythtv , pulseaudio resulted in frequent screeching white noise. there documented fix this: set default sample rate in pulseaudios daemon.conf 48k. since upgrading precise screeching white noise - perhaps worse (more frequent) before. yet since daemon.conf still has sample rate set @ 48k unsure how proceed. got ideas? i've never had problem.. can elaborate on audio config ? analogue/spdif/hdmi etc ? every mythtv upgrade need use frontend audio settings screen & rescan/reselect audio devices. recommended use alsa devices on pulse. Issues when uploading photos to Lightroom 5

greetings. having problem inaccurate color in printed output of pdf files. my work station: apple imac (intel core 2 duo @ 2.66 ghz), mac os 10.5.8, freehand mx, illustrator cs4, indesign cs4, acrobat 9.5.5, canon i9900 i have created post card consisting of photograph , small amount of text in each of 3 programs (freehand, illustrator, indesign). color, displayed on monitor , on printed high resolution paper, identical. when export files press quality pdf, pdf files other files on monitor. unfortunately, there definite color , density shift (toward greenish , darker) when print pdf on same printer using same paper before. color/density shift consistent, regardless of program contains source file. further, not matter whether photo rgb or cmyk; nor matter if color converted or not converted in making of pdf; nor matter whether vendor or colorsync ticked in print dialog options. how can aberration corrected? many thanks. -ark duke More discussions in Printi...

Warning - gradient fill bug found

i have reported bug adobe. watch out won't bite you. short version: gradients can disappear when exporting pdf long version: a. gradient fill default settings. first color starts @ 0% , second color ends @ 100%. copy object color illustrator or export pdf file. works fine. b. change start color 5% , end color 90% (anything other 0/100 trigger bug) copy , paste object gradient fill illustrator. result: no fill color export object pdf. result: no fill color c. default gradient fill (0% 100%) + add third color = works fine d. same c. change start , end colors in b. triggers bug again bug verified in indesign cs6 , cc on os x 10.8.4 bug verified adobe support. using b, gradient swatch set 5% k , 90% k, outputs pdf. using b, gradient swatch set 5% k , 90% k, copy/pastes ai. using windows 8 64-bit. peep's. need assistance here. using ls designer i've put quite elaborate form our company's access requests. now 1 snag i've run related drop down lists added actions display hidden fields. for example on page.1 have drop down list department selection. based on selection list displays hidden text field on same page. subsequently on page 2 there drop down list hidden text field based on seperate set action. now, testing in both acrobat x pro , adobe reader 9 if make department selection on page 1 results in hidden field appearing renders 2nd drop down list on page 2 non-operational it's action not function @ all. as further test, first selected drop down on page 2 worked fine , hidden text field appeared, drop down on page 1 stopped working , action hidden field did not appear. i'm @ total lost why action on page affects action on page when set conditions have nothing each other. any ideas anyone?
