i've been using photoshop cs2 several years enhance photographs, have encountered simple cannot find out how do.   have on background layer picture of room interior exposure set open window, rest of room dark.  on other layer, upper one, have same shot exposed correctly room, overexposes window aea.  upper , lower layers superimposed, , upper layer @ 100% opacity.  have selected window on upper layer , want change selected area's opacity blend window on bottom layer without changing opacity of rest of layer.  no matter do, changing opacity seems affect entire layer, , haven't figured out how isolate selected area opacity change.   i can cut selection reveal darker window on bottom layer, doesn't give me flexibility need balance 2 exposures. opacity change ideal.   any ideas? okay -- figured out workaround.  did opacity change whole layer window looked way wanted,and flattened image. left me great rendition of window, not of room.  adde...

i have 10 index paths need set on potentially on 1,000 workstations, varying versions of adobe acrobat pro , adobe acrobat reader.  need automate task, , remotely network admin.  know indexes can set importing registry key hkey_current_user.  problem hkey_current_user changes based on logged on machine, cannot registry push sub-key of hkcu.  put batch file in each user’s startup folder, don’t want overwrite index paths user may have entered on own.  there way add indexes users of pc?  possible have software @ hkey_local_machine indexes hkey_current_user ? hello,   i use photoshop cc create panoramic images photomerge. i've found start photomerge process, computer becomes absurdly slow. i'm not terribly surprised - primary issue computer remains insanely slow long after i've closed photoshop cc. solution i've found restart computer. can difficult, because computer becomes slow enough takes minutes shut down.   i want make point clear here: i'm not complaining how computer becomes slow while using photomerge. believe expected on laptop such this. problem otherwise fast computer becomes wildly slow after i'm done , photoshop closed. photoshop seems run fine otherwise.   i'm using otherwise problem-free 15'' macbook pro mountain lion (10.8.4). computer specs: 2.2 ghz intel core i7, 8 gb 1333 mhz ddr3 ram, intel hd graphics 3000 (512 mb). have memory usage set 80% under performance preferences.   any suggestions appreciated. that sounds you're exceeing ram available on system , causing lot of paging...

hello, i've been running ubuntu 12.04 since second alpha , i've been happy it. strangely enough though, since 12.04 released on april 26th (and me updating it) had lot of trouble it. can't close applications clicking red x-button on left top , need close through right click in unity dock, apport crashes when trying report problems, , 1 time firefox totally refused start , kept on crashing on me. biggest problems run however, python. writing simple python programs analyse data. using spyder ide , test on command line. script using pythons multiprocessing module used run (using 4 cores). since past weekend however, script ends in errors. errors not same , appear after various times , @ various points in script. errors appear either segmentation faults (which had never heard of before), or unpicklingerrors (indicating " invalid load key, 'w' ", w '8' or '['). post total unpicklingerror below message. weekend did in...

just installed 12.04 earlier week. (an installation alternate iso, after having problms trying installk livecd onto 10.10). after fixing other unrelated problems moved onto trying shotwell. on first launch started building library , hung (possibly fault, started rhythmbox , started building library there also, @ same time). since won't start. i've done reinstall synaptic. i've removed , added in. have gimp 2.8 installed other people have found stopped shotwell working in 11.10. i brand new linux of morning. running ubuntu 12.04 on dell e6500 hooked docking station has 2 monitors attached. want able close lid of laptop , still have external monitors active. went system settings -> power , set 'do nothing' when lid closed on both battery power , when plugged in. went configuration editor -> apps -> gnome-power-manager -> buttons , set value lid_ac , lid_battery nothing. when close lid both screen still shut down. appreciated. thank maybe bios issue, try disable suspend in bios. i trying add multiple mp4s epub designed use in ibooks.   i followed tutorial from adobe , seemed pretty straightforward. however, when load epub on ipad , view via ibooks, "play" button on mp4s has slash through them , media not work.   some notes: place mp4s , resize boxes better fit page layout, have tried exporting of available epub options in adobe , received same results, , have newest ipad.   thank help. searching issue has not lead me solutions. what version of indesign using? did choose options on media panel mp4s?
