yes, yet cursor issue. macpro 3.1, os 10.8.4, dual screens, 6 gb ram, lots of disk space, lr5 permissions repaired after loading, photoshop cs5, batteries in mouse   i have gotten used disappearing cursors in ps , know how (don't it, but...). loading of lr5 having new problem , brush turns arrow , flickers on place. not make impossible work visually irriating. exiting , restarting lr nothing , can make mouse movement more erratic. total system shutdown necessary , seems randomly time limited in effectiveness.   in researching appears people have been complaining , other similar cursor problems since @ least 2008. has figured out solution because apple , adobe either don't give rats *** users or incapable of fixing it.  (i'm happy take out snarky comment if either company can give me valid reason why should take 5 years fix flaw kills half program's functioning.)  More discussions in Lightroom Classic CC adobe

hi. i've been noticing odd behavior in illustrator cs6 hampering usefulness. basically, undo function doesn't recognize color changes made objects via manual entry of hex code.   here steps produce this: select object. select hex box in of color pickers (e.g., control panel, appearance panel, color panel). manually enter hex code color.   after hitting 'enter', color change requested. however, change won't reflected in undo list. instead, selecting 'undo' take me couple of steps or more, whatever last non-hex-color-change action made.   i figured out hex entry box in color picker culprit after reading  similar bug involving text entry in zoom box. haven't found color picker, though.   is bug? there fix it, or perhaps sort of workaround?   thanks help. i dual booted system run both windows 7 , ubuntu 12.04. have 4gb of ram, did not think necessary add separate partition/ file i've been told people should have swap 'just in case'. however, i've noticed music player qmmp/rhythmbox takes unusually long time load media library (about 40k songs/ 200 gbs). on average, takes little on half hour whereas same library scan in less 2-3 minutes on windows winamp. also, maximum data transfer speed while copying file 1 drive other in range of 24 mb/sec 3 times lower windows speed. want know if these issues because of not specifying swap. if yes, want know how add swap without having reinstall, if possible. prefer have swap file rather dedicated partition. currently, have windows, ubuntu on same drive, 70gb left on separate parttion on same drive. ideally, swap file should located on partition. main use of system browsing , listening music. little bit of 2d , 3d rendering, i'm used photoshop , 3ds max,...

on 2nd attempt, online update 11.10 12.04 completed on desktop. after restart, have no gui computer icon on desktop , although can start browser, example, thro file manager there no window controls @ cannot stop or minimise etc. suggest way out - possibly commands execute in terminal (not sure how can terminal file manager tho ?) retrieve window manager controls ? in advance. i use pagemaker 6.5 (yes, know it's old , unsupported , donated our church <g>) generate our church's programs, bulletins, newsletters, etc, printed @ cost local fedex/kinkos.  have told software has been updated , can no longer print pagemaker files.   (to specs out of way - computer running windows xp pro, intel core duo processor, 2.33 ghz).   in short run we're trying convert pagemaker files pdf's either printing or converting whatever software end getting next.  problem running involves distiller.  when try generate pdf, distiller doesn't run, keep getting 'divide 0 stack overflow' error.  tried download trial version of pagemaker 7 see if newer version might work ,but doesn't have distiller.  found oldest computer could, gateway 2003, , installed pagemaker 6.5 , distiller, distiller won't run on that, either.  same error message.   i'm thinking our best solution @ point pm6.5 files postscript, can do, , use online converter servic...

i'm not going rant here, got tired of unity , removed it. switched mate, working out great until tried use compiz cairo-dock. compiz slows down netbook ridiculously, noticed every time toggle on window borders change awful charcoal-color title bar orange buttons, overriding custom theme settings had, , seemingly messing them. there way can fix this? compiz uses 3 windows decorator: gtk-window-decorator (which you're using), kde-window-decorator , emerald. if want change decorator, must change default gnome theme. (please tolerate english) upgraded 12.04 lts . before upgrade updated ubuntu 11.10. did not check whether cd/dvd drive working or not , after installation or update or upgrade. i'm new ubuntu. have following additional issues : 1. drive can not read dvds can read cds. cant retrieve files on backup dvd. must cleared possible. tested using brasero , burned dvd, @ last showed error . still drive can not read it. 2. system settings utility not opening. nothing displayed on screen if click . 3. dont know whether ubuntu 11.10 upgraded properly. if open update manager shows "not updates installed " , button caption "partial upgrade" . if click , message says "an upgrade precise oneiric not supported in tool. say? 4. if switch unity 3d , cant see desktop items such taskbar , launcher etc. (i'm using lenovo machine(inter i3 pro ) nvidia geforce cuda graphics card 512mb). , have restart , switch unity 2d . affect system badly? ...
