i running bridge cs6 on mac network -- current versions. have 1 mac on network set server several drives connected. when access files on server bridge different computer on network, works fine, until select image in bridge editing in photoshop. make edits, hit save, , when return bridge, file edited shows 0 byte size, , incorrect thumbnail (an image of drive icon) displayed). if click on same file again (to load photoshop) proper file size appears in bridge, along correct thumbnail.   when drive icon appears , file size shown 0, "purge cache selection" not correct issue. however, if go brige preferences , select "purge cache" file list in bridge refreshed, , correct file size appears, along correct icon.   this problem occurs consistently, despite accessing different macs, putting drives on mac fresh load of os-x, fixing permissions, deleting preference files, etc.   does have solution problem? the advice photoshop forum is not recommenced save server.  save local...

i make several big folders copy/update usb memory stick backup everyday. cp -r -u not favorite here, because takes long. want copy new files changed 1 or several days ago, 1 or 2 times day. bottom line want check file date , copy new files, usb flash memory, make fast. flow wil : (1) read files in specified folders (2) check if file date modified less 1 day, (3) if no, skip, if yes make copy usb memory, maintaining directory structure. after installing acobat xi pro purchased few months ago onto new hard drive, icons appear on desktop.  try open application or open .pdf; message "serial number upgrade-- serial number provide valid, qualifying product not found on computer."  drop down box select product , enter serial number.  drop down box not have acrobat xi pro listed, closest thing acrobat xi standard doesn't work serial number.  on earth going wrong here? i don't know happened, if stopped working. seems have gone normal thing happens during install.   this happens when copy of acrobat buy upgrade. version of acrobat did have when purchased upgrade? doesn't have installed need serial number. how edit default settings in acrobat pro xi embed fonts? do not use std job settings, use press or print settings. can edit properties of job settings (best done in distiller) not exclude fonts , embed subset fonts. sure check option continue if embedding not possible or creation fail if used font not licensed embedding (acrobat embed fonts legally licensed embedding -- are, not all).   if edit std, need save new name. might use mystd or such. go start>printers , edit properties of adobe pdf printer make settings file default. if use pdf maker, have change pdf maker preferences (pdf maker seems use last selection, not default in printer). clear enough. hi all, need install citrix reciever on ubuntu 10.10 64 bit system. first attempt @ installing openmotif use repo motif lib did. decided going confound things....i purged install of lib3motif (somethinglike that) , installed openmotiff 64 bit using alien convert .rpm .deb and installing dpkg. downloaded citrix 64 bit software. @ first wouldn't complete post install script due shell script bug didn't detect architecture properly. however, icon main menu created. hacked script , ran dpkg --configure on unpacked .deb files. no errors reported @ point. try start citrix main menu , nothing happens. tried command line $wfica , nothing. try purge citrix install , try again...i think did once menu start icon didn't go away. ideas ? i have photoshop elements 7.0.0.0. try make backup on external hard drive. files on hard drive can't open it. have do? make full backup:   insert cd/dvd or plug in external hard drive click file >>backup catalog cd, dvd or hard drive check full backup, click next select drive letter cd rom drive or external hard drive (click browse button , navigate specific folder if wish) then click done wait pse7 write backup   once have full backup can make incremental backups in future quicker.   don’t use same folder, make new one. once have full can make incremental ups need follow set routine. it’s not intuitive.   start creating new folder or label new cd/dvd disk - it’s best use dates e.g. “pse7 incr backup 20130811”   press ctrl+b , check incremental, click next   highlight drive containing last backup , click bottom browse button (previous file) navigate tly file , click open.   click browse button above , navigate new ...

hello,   i refer online adobe document: controlling animations ( http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/adobe/en/devnet/acrobat3d/pdfs/contro lling_animations.pdf ). in there example given code howto control animation. adobe animation runs fine , controls also.   i created animation tetra4d reviewer of 15 seconds , exported pdf. animation runs fine.   i replaced adobe example animation animation(by copy paste). did of course attach animationcontroller.js via properties panel. animation run start end repeatedly. none of control buttons of adobe example work or have influence on animation.   i did same procedure copy paste of original adobe animation....and works. cleared embedded code find indeed controls did not work anymore ok, , reapplied animationcontroller.js again , checked ....it worked again...so applying code not issue.....   what missing here animation not work. animation adobe example....or isn't it???   regards pete files created ...

hi, in lr4 used lens correction. pictures nowadays take old nikon 24-85:2.8-4 lens. when tick lens correction , choose manufacturer nikon automatically gave me nikon 24-85:3.5-4.5 (as 2.8-4-version not present), usable. in lr5 gives me nikon coolpix-lens , have manually change it. quite annoying. lr has not automatically assigned lens profile, since not correspond.   but it's no biggie...after manually selecting particular lens profile, can set user default used in future (for other pictures report same lens data current active image does).   it's option in drop-down menu within lens profile panel.   your lr default settings or import preset affecting these future imported images, need ensure profile active, , selection of profile set default (instead of manual) within same drop-down menu.   hereafter, lr adopt whatever profile factory default or (as override) user selected default, or (failing both) no profile @ all, each image imported. hi have had major problem. entire boot folder erased , stuck in initramfs there commands can use make new initrd or can act initrd file somehow. remember have limited commands have basic such mkdir cat mktemp cp pwd set du chroot chmod , few others. have little access bet use commands open programs. dont know these programs. know boot proccess far kernel , grub not know else initrd says do. please help. boot live cd, mount root file system , if necessary boot partition in chroot, , re-install kernel. assuming running live cd, , ubuntu root partition /dev/sda, , not have separate boot partition ... code: sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt sudo cp /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/etc/ depending on configuration, may need copy hosts file code: sudo cp /etc/hosts /mnt/etc/ sudo mount --bind /dev/ /mnt/dev sudo chroot /mnt mount -t proc none /proc mount -t sysfs none /sys mount -t devpts none /dev/pts to avoid locale ...
